A Wise Man Once Said...

Fool me once, shame on you.
Fool me - you can't get fooled again.

Every Word, Every Thought, Every Sound

My entire system is still reeling from the shock of being in this foreign land. The first week I was here, my skin was literally cracking because it's so dry here. The tap water tastes very weird and I've bought at least $30 worth of mineral water to fend off dehydration.

I have a French flat-mate whose favourite past-time appears to be unplugging freezers, reading textbooks about renewable energy, and turning off all the lights in the flat immediately after I've turned them on. That's Nicolas.

Then there's this Australian guy who has the most awesome red bike, an amplifier that takes up half his room and longish hair that he claims hasn't been washed in 'a couple of months'. That's Rogan.

Plus, there's the Malaysian guy who was sitting around in his boxers, playing the guitar, the first time I met him. Now, he has no inhibitions about walking around the house in his boxers. The horror, haha. That's William.

And then we have the Australian girl, who brings us free bread now that she's working at a bakery! Yum yum; I'm going to get so obese. I think I'll try to convince her to work at a pet shop so I can get free puppies :D That's Kirsten.

Also, there's the Zimbabwean guy whom I almost never see around the house. In fact, I see his friends around more than I see him. That's Kuda.

Then, we have the neighbour from Mauritius with identity confusion that thinks he lives in our flat because he is here more often than I am. When he has some free time in between trying to trick us, he has been teaching us some French phrases: 'Tu es tres sexe' (You are so sexy) and 'Je suis une pomme de terre' (I am a potato). See the train of thought? That's Greg.

Here are some pictures:

Yasmin and I having pies in Freo. Mmm. Yummy pies.

Liane and I at the poolside lounge.

P/S: Again, I'm too lazy to Photoshop any photos so don't-lah zoom in!

The Tale of Two Davids

I have two lecturers that totally crack me up. It's so ironic.

Meet David H.:

"You do not call me Sir. I was never knighted by the Queen of England. You do not call me Emperor. You do not call me Lord. You do not call me King. You can call me David. Mr H, if you must."

Meet David B.:

"I respond to 'Your Grace' and 'Your Highness'. I suppose you may also call me David, if you must."

See how hilarious they are?

Postcards from Australia

Guys, it's already 2.17AM over here so I won't be on for long. I have a class at 8.30AM tomorrow and then we're heading out to do our grocery shoping, before cooking dinner and having a girls' night out watching 'He's Just Not That Into You'.

So much has happened that it's a bit overwhelming, to be honest. I'll try to blog as soon as I get around to it, but in the meantime, some photos to appease my hungry fans:

That's me with the backpack, before boarding the shuttle from the airport to campus when we first arrived.

Credits to Yasmin.

A very random shot in Freo. If you look closely, I think I was mouthing "Oi!".

Credits to Liane for the DSLR shot and my dad for the light editing

(he said the original picture was too dark, so I said I was too lazy to edit

and told him to do it and he really did, haha).

Another pretty disturbing shot in Little Creatures.

I cannot believe I was part of The Poseur Society. At a random bus stop.

Credits to Yasmin.

Having our first proper meal in Australia. We were SO hungry and the sushi was so good.

Credits to Liane.

At the beach long enough to take this shot, before running for the inviting shade of McDonald's.

Credits to Yasmin.

Yasmin, me, Justine (Yasmin's room-mate), Liane, Kirsten (my flat-mate).

Yasmin. Kevin. Me. He's actually really tall but he purposely did that to act short.

The Boost was very yummy; I want one NOW!

Me, Yasmin and Michael, at a cellar in Northbridge, before heading to Bar Open (very dodgy).

My feet and Yasmin's, on a beach in Cottesloe (let's hope I spelt it correctly).

My gorgeous, brand new shoes.
I bought them on sale, when I desperately needed a pair of heels for clubbing.

I don't bring my camera out so all these pictures are those that are tagged of me on Facebook. I will try my hardest to blog soon. I miss nasi lemak very, very much and I knew I should not have taken it for granted. But my brother is coming to visit me in June! :D

Suddenly...

I feel so alone.
